Seven Sharks swimmers swam at last weekends first Gala in the 2006 Yorkshire Championships series which run between now and 19th March. Although swimming under the Dartes Banner they nevertheless did us proud, producing many personal bests.
Highlights of the Gala for us were Emily Fordham and Jonathan Milnes, who both made the final of their respoective 100m Butterfly. Emily mode it with a heat time of 1:22.45. In the same event Anna Laird showed her form by coming 9th in the heats and being first reserve for the final. Emily couldn't better her time in the final and came 8th but nevertheless a fantastic achievement. Jonathon went into the final with a heat time of 1:19.52 and then pb'd further to get 7th place with a time of 1:17.96.
Sharks swimmers managed 7 top 10's and 10 top 20's. Well done all of you.
Many will be back in action this weekend in the second Gala of the Championships.
