Swimming Lessons at Epworth Swimming Pool
As a swimming centre that is open 7 days a week, we have swimming lessons and swimming sessions for everyone. From beginners, to experienced swimmers, young to old – we try to give everybody a reason to come swimming.

Available For Hire
Have the most amazing ‘Pool Party’ with our inflatable ‘Yellow Submarine’, balls and floats.
Option 1 – 1 hour private use of the pool, with inflatable.
Option 2 – 1 hour private use of the pool, with inflatable and then exclusive hire of the viewing area if you wish to provide a ‘Party tea’ and birthday cake.
The very best way to start the day, enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool. Call in before work or school/college.

A whole hour of fun in the water. It’s a great time to meet friends whilst enjoying swimming. Free for children 16 years and under.
We have Ladies Only swimming sessions twice a week, allowing women the freedom of the pool and are ideal to get you started or to improve your swimming in a friendly, relaxed, all female environment.
Our Aqua Babes swimming sessions are a fabulous way for you to introduce your baby to water. As well as the obvious benefit of teaching your baby a potential life saving skill, swimming has been shown to establish eating and sleeping patterns and encourages physical, social & psychological development.
Our Adult Swimming Lessons are designed for a variety of abilities. With nearly 1 in 5 UK adults not able to swim, we cater for the absolute beginner, who needs to learn from scratch – to adults that know how to swim but would like to develop their swimming further.
The Lifesaving Club is designed for those that would like to become proficient in Lifesaving around water. Our experienced instructors will teach you the essential skills, enabling you to work towards your Life Saving Certificates.
These sessions are run specifically for any swimmers 16 years or over, they provide an opportunity for a relaxing swim in a child-free environment. Practise your strokes and stay in shape.

Our Aqua Tone class is a low impact exercise class that uses the resistance of the water to improve the overall fitness and muscle tone.
Puddle Ducks is a carefully structured swimming class, especially designed for you and your baby to have fun whilst teaching your little one important water confidence & safety skills.

Our Swimming Lessons will teach you everything from your first swimming strokes to the more advanced swimming activities like diving and underwater swimming.
The Over 50’s swimming sessions are designed for the older adults who may want to swim at a more sedate pace – without the distraction of children.
These sessions are open to all. Times may vary.
Please ensure you have read our ‘Child admission policy’.
We allocate several hours per week to teaching school children the important life skill of swimming and water safety.
Students are taught to:
- swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
- use a range of strokes effectively [for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke
- perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations
